I guess I don't see how this would make the process any easier.

Right now, if you have all your changes under one working copy, you can
right-click the root folder and choose "commit" from there. If you do that,
you can then select or deselect any of the files that have been changed or
added anywhere under the directory you right-clicked on.

I'd much rather do that, than hunt through directory trees on my filesystem
browser for files to commit, and right-click on each one of them.

There is a "changelist" feature you can use to similar effect, by the way.
If you right-click on a changed file in the "check for modifications" or
commit dialogs, you can add that file to a changelist. You can then use
that changelist in the commit dialog to quickly select or deselect the
entire list of files.
