Very true. This is always at the forefront of my mind when I post anything on this list.

I don't think many company IT departments will even look at Windows 8 nowadays. Maybe for the really low-end users, but not for serious business applications (and certainly not for software development). Windows 7 is already popular with businesses.

Not simple for somebody who doesn't do hosted software development, but still worth a look-in.
Is support for 32-bit versions of Windows 7 going to be maintained? I've found myself with a 32-bit Win7 machine at work (it was destined for the "other" Geoff here, who works in finance, but suits my purposes for use with typical embedded software development tools).
