Hmm,
You mean even if you'll diff quite simple excel files but my script won't work.
In my environment, your procedure works fine and I could not find any error though.

My Excel is also a part of Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 (Japanese Edition).
Detail version is Microsoft Excel 2010 (14.0.6126.5003) SP1 MSO (14.0.6129.5000).
I also tested with Office 2007 SP3 (Japanese Edition) and works fine.
Actually I don't have non Japanese version.

Anyway, I've realized that trick is required in some environment.
I should not have removed that.

OK, I’ll try to find other solution.
