A lot of times I get sidetracked in the middle of typing up a commit
message, usually because I see something wrong and have to go fix it
first, and wind up not actually committing stuff until later. Even if
you don't actually commit, the message you had in the box is saved,
which is great so I don't have to go through my changes and describe
them again. It would just be handy to see the date when I started
typing it to remind me if I need to change any of the saved message due
to having already made further changes to the feature I had already
described, just by knowing what I had been working on in the interim.
Come to think of it, I should probably just be less sloppy and commit
smaller changes more often.
