Not sure, but unless it was a really early 1.7 or even 1.6 that should
not be a problem.

Given that you have already tried the registry fix, the usual culprits
are either virus scanner or firewall or similar security apps. You
could try disabling them temporarily to see.

Is it just that one working copy or all of them? Have you tried a
fresh checkout?

There is an option in Settings->Context Menu to "Hide menus for
unversioned paths", and "Do not show context menu for the following
paths".

Other than that I'm out of ideas :-(
