TortoiseIDiff Question

TortoiseIDiff 1.7.10.23359

1. Create an image file "1".

2. Make a copy of "1" as "2" in Windows Explorer.

3. Perform a diff comparison of "1" and "2".

4. TortoiseIDiff: Overlay images.

5. TortoiseIDiff: Disable alpha blend.

Should I now be seeing a blank white pane?

What I am seeing instead is a fuzzy outline of pale colours which I thought

would only be expected if the images were slightly different.

If the sources were JPG and I wanted to compare compression losses, I might
think

the image had changed. Perhaps I have misunderstood how this works.

Thanks.
