all users can access the share with the working copies, but every coworker has his own wc.

After creating the missing files as 0 byte, some checking in and out, and creating new wc, now it seems to work again.

Whatever the problem was, I would suggest to restore missing files (in .svn and subfolders) from the repository when cleaning up.
