Pre & post process for merge

Folks,

I've been using TSVN to manage a project that mostly consists of xml files and images. However, some xml files are stored by the editing application in compressed format. There is an accompanying .exe that can compress and uncompress such files (by creating new file).

Can I adapt my TSVN setup so that the merge process can work on these compressed files - I presume by uncompressing them, doing the merge then recompressing?
