The relevance is this: If what you're finding is "official"
documentation and that documentation doesn't match what the software
actually does, the people responsible for maintaining it need to be
made aware of this so that it can be corrected. If it's a 5 year old
post on joerandom.blogspot.com, that's important to know too, so that
people can be directed away from a a source of possible
misinformation.
