"Ignore ancestry" checked by default in "Switch" dialog

Using TortoiseSVN 1.7.1, each time I want to switch a working copy,
the "Ignore ancestry" checkbox is checked by default. Is that
intentional, and if so, why? My understanding is that the default
behaviour of command line SVN is to respect ancestry. This way, it
avoids corrupting the working copy when a wrong folder level was
selected (e.g. switching a working copy from /project/foo/trunk/
subfolder to /project/foo/tags/old-copy-of-trunk-folder/).
