RE: bug: TortoiseMerge not saving newline at end of file when changing lines

I've observed similar behavior using TortoiseMerge from the Tools download on sourceforge (Jan 2010). Furthermore, it appears this behavior was observed and corrected in the TortoiseMerge maintained as part of TortoiseGit: http://code.google.com/p/tortoisegit/issues/detail?id=935
The problem appears to be that TortoiseMerge omits trailing newlines from files when saving.
Does the TortoiseGit patch work for the code in TortoiseSVN? Can we get this fixed and release a new standalone version?
