How to show easily evolution of an external project

Hello,

Is it possible to show the evolution of an external project with a special icon on the folder ?

When you extract and change files, the folder icon come red and when the work is synchronised, it come green why not for an external project update ?

This function can be usefull.

In other words, if you have an external propertie, pointing on a tag of an another project. Can we see easily if the project update and choose if you update your properties or not ?
