Do you know if there is a way to turn off showing the file type icon in the various dialogs? When I encountered a similar problem with 1.7.1 these icons were shown when things did work correctly. In 1.6.11 these icons are blank for solidworks files (shown for other files like word docs). That file sldShellExtServer.exe is what is responsible for loading the icons/thumbnails I believe.
The attached photo is from a get lock dialog window from 1.6.11.
