Commit dialog loads extremely slow in a 'view' with externals

I'm trying to 'commit' in my trunk folder, that only has 12 externals
in it (all located on the same, single svn repo)

Do note that the trunk is not the 'top' of the working copy, as I have
the whole 'view' checked out (so I got a trunk / branches / tags
folder)

When I select all folders (externals) and press commit the empty
commit screen (no changes) shows almost instantly,

but when I 'commit' the view where the externals are located in (in my
case 'trunk'), it takes almost a full minute to get the same result
(no pending changes)

Any ideas?
