I realise that SVN may not be the best choice in this instance, but
I'm stuck with it in the short term.
It's not usually a problem as everyone would have network access, but
we have a developer doing a one-off customer integration.
Also we have only just introduced svn within the last 3-4 months and
it was quite a learning curve, so moving to dvcs would confuse the
hell out of everybody!

SVK looks like the least-cludgy workaround so I'll investigate
further.
