32-bit system on a 64-bit CPU

Hi all

A friend of mine is having a problem installing TortoiseSVN. He claims that
he downloaded both 32-bit and 64-bit installers from the download page..
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/tortoisesvn/TortoiseSVN-1.6.15.21042-win32-svn-1.6.16.msi?download
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/tortoisesvn/TortoiseSVN-1.6.15.21042-x64-svn-1.6.16.msi?download
..and *both* installers complain about unsupported processor.

Apparently, he is running 32-bit Windows XP on a 64-bit AMD CPU. Don't ask
me why. The specs are:
Amd athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 4000+ 2.11 Ghz, 2.00 Gb Ram
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, version 2002, Service pack 3

Is there any way to solve this besides installing another OS?
Thanks in advance :)
