svn update fails quietly

I have revision 885 of a file in my working directory. I right-click SVN Update. The dialog informs me the update is completed at revision 934.

TortoiseSVN->Show log displays a revision 885 and 933. Compare with working copy diffs the two revisions and I can see the 933 changes from the archive. Accessing the repository through a web browser shows the latest version 933 on the server.

If I remove the file and SVN Update, the 933 revision appears after an update. If I restore revision 885 and do another update, it again claims to complete the update, leaving revision 885 as the latest.

Why is SVN Update claiming to complete successfully when it does not pull in revision 933? Am I missing something?

Thanks,
- Andy
