Ohh yes .. this will not recover deleted metadata file.
Still it can recover deleted file from the repo browser any time.
I have tried this and just trying to help other...

Andreas didn't delete a versioned file but the folder containing the
working copy metadata. Also, that's the wrong way to recover a deleted file.
