100 revisions sounds like integrating a feature branch. Otherwise, I typically
merge a handful of revisions or even just a single one at once, typically
distributing bugfixes from trunk to several release branches.

That said, what is the problem for you that you don't want the combined log
being displayed? I understand that the sheer amount can make it useless, but
what is the problem? With the same reasoning you could vote for not
displaying the affected files...
