Yes it does. All information is already available.

You guessed right, I want that while merging. However, even though there is no
need to put the info into the log message when merging, I do so nonetheless,
just as convenience. Otherwise, getting from the log message in the merge
target's log to the according changes becomes a hassle.

It's just like with the list of changed files below the text field for the log
messages. You could have left the list empty when multiple revisions are
selected, but you decided to merge the lists there. IMHO it would be an
improvement to do the same to the log messages.
