Do you mean done and released... or done (code complete) and in alpha testing?

yes, I also recall one of the devs expecting that 1.7 would be out in the summer (after 1.6 came out).... was it 2009.

It's open source, it will be done when it is done. I would be very happy to see it released/done that soon.
