I experienced this many times, but I was using PowerDesk. I finally dropped PowerDesk totally and went to XYPloyer instead. However the PowerDesk fix might still work for you even though you don't use PowerDesk, or it may be enough at least to allow you to find the KB fix to work around the problem. I know what you mean about this problem being frustrating, I spent more time trying to get Windows to work then I was doing on the work I was supposed to get done. Win 7 x64 seems to have fixed all this, at least I haven't had the same problems as with XP.

Why do you say that? Do you 2 guys work for the same company? Unless
there is a policy which states otherwise you should consider 1.6.10
the current approved release.
