Icon Overlay Problem persist after "royal reinstall" in Windows XP / Parallels FAQ entry misleading

After installing 1.6.8 Build 19260 on five different environments I
have the following results:
Windows 7 installs - fine
Windows XP SP 3 and SP 2 installs within Parallels environment after
full deinstall reboot install reboot:
- failure to show the overlay icons
- FAQ does not show information that would be applicable to Windows XP

Total effort to solve this so far: 2,5 hours. Just multiply by the
number of people that have this trouble and take this as a measure for
how serious I personally consider this bug.

Of course it's interesting to know that Microsoft fouled up the whole
situation in the first place. This seems to be a repeating pattern.

For the time being I think we'll have to revert to the previous
version 1.6.7 until the bug is fixed.
