Tortoise Client 1.5.6

Hi

            Can you please help me with the following :

            I have an svn server 1.5.3 installed on Win 2003 Prof OS machine for our J2EE project.

            Can we use Tortoise Client 1.5.6 from windows machines to connect to the above repository?
            Would using Tortoise higher version client corrupt the repository?
