Well... this *is* open source software. And it is created and maintained
by volunteers. You are perfectly free to add this functionality and
contribute a patch to the community.
Accusing the lead developer of being in denial is probably not the best
way to get what you want.
You asked for a new feature, the developers countered with a simple
answer detailing why it is not A Good Thing and/or why it is not
feasible in their view... Maybe you are not understanding the answer, or
they are not understanding your suggestion. In any case, repeating what
you want is not going to change that, unless you find compelling
arguments, express your ideas from a different angle, or study the
answer with more care.
