"no error occurred"

I had the same problem.
It turned out that it was the problem with temporary folder.
Tortoise couldn't write anything to temp because it didn't exist.
I had 3 drives - C, D, E. I had to delete the E partition
but windows environment variables temp and tmp
were: TMP = "E:\temp" and TEMP = "E:\temp".
So tortoise tried to write to E:\temp and the
path did not exist.

Changing variables to existing path helped.
