Terminal Font doesn't display properly in TortoiseMerge

wanted to check diffs and wanted to change font to my preffered used on all dev environments, and tortoisemerge simply wont show how it should.

Font in question is:
Terminal (Microsoft VGA (640x480) resolution terminal font) comes with any Windows
Font Size 6 - shows up but its smaller then 6, think its size is 5 (check first pic)
Font Size 8 - some garbage totally unreadable that looks like a some text but not readable (check second pic)
Font Size 9 - some garbage totally unreadable that looks like a some text but not readable
...

while in same time this font is shown properly in other programs like TC lister, TextPad (used it for comparation), ...
I do not know does having installed Far East Asian languages on OS has to do with anything, but I guess not since TextPad, Lister, MSVS2005, ... shows this font properly.

here are images for comparation tortoisemerge + textpad:

font size 9: http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/9743/svndiffterminalfontbugr.png
