That works well for us, checkout the top level of your repo using the
'this item only' option, and then use the repo browser to find whatever
bits you need as you need them. Use the 'update item to revision' menu
item from within the repo browser.
The only niggle I have with this is if the item is already checked out
(I have a lot of directories, and don't always look), then that menu
item disappears. I'd love for it to be replaced with the standard
'update' option in these cases so I don't have to quit the repo browser,
find my directory in explorer and then update the directory. Perhaps in
the future this menu item will be replaced with the "reduce-depth"
option instead.
