Sparse Checkout interface

I have tried the sparse checkout in 1.6.1. Has anyone considered implementing something like a "SVN Updite..." option that would allow users to override the setting at a level. I could then do a checkout "Only this item" or "Immediate children, including folders." and then go to individual sub folders and change the setting for that particular item similar to: "svn update --set-depth=infinity --force." The infinity could be changed to the appropriate value.

The history of this request is that we have developers who only work on a subset of the code while others require the entire code set. I could provide them with the svn command lines but it would be easier if the client that they normally use supports the functionality.
