Icon Overlays in Explorer

We have about 10 repositories with the same UUID which sometimes was a problem with Blame but our admin says he cannot fix it with the server version.
I can live with that because Blame always worked when started for the second time.
However, since I updated to tortoise 1.6.0 (and 1.6.1), the icon overlays in Windows Explorer update only sporadically, even when I press F5 (which used to work in 1.5.x most of the time).
Now, often there are no icons in a whole folder and all of its files and subfolders, and sometimes the icons are wrong, e.g. "normal" is displayed instead of "modified" or vice verca.
Missing icons were there before, but the problem became much worse with version 1.6.x.
