svnserve author is empty

When I access a repository as file:///C:/SVN/repos all commits get the author information. But when I access it as svn:///repos (svnserve is running) all commits have an empty author information, what's annoying. As SVN I use TortoiseSVN 1.5.5, Build 14361, SVN is in version 1.5.4.

How do I setup svnserve and TortoiseSVN to store author information?
