Nothing :). TortoiseSVN is standalone client - it has everything you
need to checkout files etc. As long as you want to use a local
repository using the file:// protocol, or access a remote repository
using svn:// or http:// which is run by someone else you're all set.

You only need to install subversion if you want your own serve up your
own repository using svn:// or http://.
