Usign Patch for local back-up.

I am new to using SVN... so be gentle with me! :-)

I often work for days on modifications before I can commit theses changes.
In the beginning I started by copying my local arborescence to my personal
area on the backup server.... this is not the most effificent way!

I now create a patch file and I only backup this patch file to the backup
server... much nicer.

Now I am trying to figure out if I can automate this.

Are there scripts/utilities out there that provide this functionality? If
not then if someone can point me to some documentation so I could implement
a solution myself!

Best Regards
