What's happening is you're accessing the WC on a UNC share path, and
somewhere the backslash is being escaped.

If you map that share to a drive letter, I'd bet that the "bug" goes
away. WCs on network shares (whether you use UNC paths or a mapped
drive letter) are not recommended in the first place.
