Re: TortoiseSVN context menus refuse to work

I'm having a problem with the context menus, but quite a different
one: right-clicking on a file or directory in Windows Explorer causes
WE to instantly crash. That is, the disk drive clicks for a half a
second, and then I get the msg that Windows has to close WE.

Oddly enough, I seem to have the same setup as the OP. I tried
"repair files" once, and I un-installed and re-installed once,
rebooting each time. Same problem every time.

I suppose there may be some kind of conflict with a program that
previously hooked the WE context menu. One of those programs is
TortoiseCVS, the others include RCS, PowerDesk (which also crashes
when I right-click on a file), PGP (an old free version), and McAfee.

I have now uninstalled TortoiseSVN, and right-clicking in WE works
again.

Like the OP, I have 1.5.3 (I did a "check for new version" in the
Tortoise SVN tool, which ran without problem), and XP SP2.
