Re: All the .svn directories

I have a possible solution to suggest, but also a question.

Only the Windows "Search Companion" has the option to exclude "hidden files
and folders" from search results. The "Windows Search" product does not
provide the same function, but it does have an even more powerful Advanced
Query Syntax. Just add this phrase to your search criteria:

"use -folder:\.svn"

and your search results will suppress any matches from your .svn folders.

To distinguish these two search products; Search Companion is built-in to
Win XP, and has the paper clip character (or a different animated character
of your choosing). Windows Search, on the other hand, is an add-on for Win
XP, but is built-in to Vista. The most current version is Windows Search 4,
and prior to version 4 was called Windows Desktop Search.

Now, for my own question:
This thread discusses how to suppress the contents of .svn folders from
showing up in search results -- BUT I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO EXCLUDE .SVN
FOLDERS FROM BEING INDEXED IN THE FIRST PLACE! Does anyone know how to do
that?
