Yes, go to Settings->Overlay Icons and disable the icons for unversioned and ignored if you don't like them.

I'm the OP (Original Painter) of the pixel icons and I tried a few attempts to repaint the tiny-res icons from Stefans vector icons, but I admittedly never had the time&energy, because it's a sh*tty job. I'm no artist, so I'd probably need three times as long as a professional would need.

You can try the Straight icon set and switch off the two 'annoying' ones. This icon set was designed with maximum distinguishability in mind. No blurryness or transparency whatsoever. It's my default, so I never really see the change in the standard set.
