You have been very selective in what you quoted. If you read the
original text you will see that I agreed that the icons do not look as
good in small sizes, but that it was a necessary change and we need
someone with the necessary skills to make them better. You seem to be
intent on telling us what to do and how to do it before you have
understood the problem.

Not quite true. Yes they look better on XP, we have already said that.
But the set is incomplete as icon sets need the unversioned and
ignored icons in 1.5.

Note also that the icon sets can now be shared with TortoiseCVS,
TortoiseHG, etc. so you cannot view the problem in isolation.

Now that is something I never said. Your original mail had some fair
points, all of which were answered politely. Constructive criticism is
always useful. What I object to is people saying "I don't like this,
you must change it". This is an open source project. We are all
volunteers and that means you cannot demand that we change something.
I would love to see better low-res icons too, but I don't have the
time or the skills to improve them so I have to live with it.
