After installing latest tortoise getting 'can't remove ...\db\transactions\n-n.txn' errors

Been using tortoise for over a year and am quite happy with it. I
installed the latest version today and seem to be unable to get around
the following error:

Error: Commit failed (details follow):
Error: Can't remove 'F:\projects\o\optconn\base\db\transactions
\1-1.txn': The system
Error: cannot find the file specified.

Has anyone seen this before? I've recreated my repository completely
and am trying to commit again and get the same error. Someone got an
idea what is wrong here?
