Check for modifications shows wrong list of modified files after update/checkout

It seems that the following problem occurs since we switched to 1.5.x:

After an update of a working folder the 'check for modifications'
dialog shows a wrong list of modified files.
Files which haven't been modified before the update are shown
'modified' after the update. If we double click on these files
WinMerge says 'no differences'

Does anyone know, if this is a bug or if we do something wrong?

Some background info:

We do work with the current version of TortoiseSVN (1.5.2.13595)
It happenend now at least on two different machines here.
It seems to happen only in working folders of branched projects.
So it might be related to merge operations.
