Playing devil's advocate here: Are you really sure you can't register
your handler for a lot of file types?

Is it conceivable to allow a Vista-only installation option (or even
better, a runtime configuration option) that would make TSVN register
its handler for all file types found under working copies? Basically,
you have a list of registered file types, and every time you see a
directory, you check its file types (for the versioned files anyway)
against what you've registered, and if needed, register another handler.

Note that I have no idea about whether this requires a reboot or
anything to activate. It also sounds like a bit of a pain to implement,
but if you're stuck with Vista's limitations here, maybe a hack like
this is the best way to go for people who really want the feature.
