Problem browsing repo

Hi,

I recently set up an SVN 1.5 repository under Gentoo, accessed via
HTTPS. I am able to check out and commit with TortoiseSVN, and I can
browse the repository using Firefox, but TortoiseSVN's repo-browser does
not work. When asking for the username and password, it does not accept
any username or password (the same username/password combos that work
for checkouts and commits), instead it asks for the username and
password four or five times before giving up.

There is nothing in the ssl_error_log, and the ssl_access_log shows
lines like the following:

xx.xxx.xx.xxx - username [30/Jul/2008:15:56:24 -0600] "PROPFIND
/doer/!svn/bln/0 HTTP/1.1" 207 441
xx.xxx.xx.xxx - username [30/Jul/2008:15:56:24 -0600] "PROPFIND
/reponame HTTP/1.1" 207 257

followed by one of these for each time I try (unsuccessfully) to
authenticate:

xx.xxx.xx.xxx - - [30/Jul/2008:15:56:24 -0600] "OPTIONS /reponame
HTTP/1.1" 401 467

This happens for both repositories on the server.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan "Heron" Myers
