TSVN 1.5 can show an overlay to mark a folder as versioned. It's better
than no overlays at all, but doesn't do excessive status checks (all it
does is check for an .svn folder).
You can turn this of in the settings dialog:
settings->icon overlays->"show excluded folders as normal"
