"Inconsistent newlines" failure

From: flipdaddy <gtflip_at_gmail.com>

While committing with TortoiseSVN 1.5.0, I got an error like "Commit
failed while preparing file" and "Inconsistent newlines" (I
accidentally closed the dialog, so I don't have the message any more).

It's an easy problem to fix, but it happened at the end of a very
large commit that I started before I left work. I waited until it was
actually sending files ("Sending content") before I left, because I
thought it was going to be fine at that point. Of course, the file
that failed was near the end, so it sent everything else before it
failed.

Would it be possible to move the newline check (and anything else that
would cause the commit to fail) to before it starts sending data?
That could save a lot of time and bandwidth for large commits.

Thanks,

Phillip
