Ugly icon overlays

Hey all,

I just updated to 1.5.0, and the overlay icons are ugly and unusable.
The previous icons looked like they were designed for display at small
sizes. The new icons look like scaled versions of very large icons,
and they are just a blurry mess at small sizes, especially 16x16 - the
red exclamation mark is just a white blur on a red blur. They are not
even particularly readable at 32x32. This is a serious downgrade in
usability. Is it possible to switch back to the old icon scheme
somehow?
