RE: Re: Tortoise auth cache switching from svn+ssh to just svn

Thanks Wayne for the response. Our developers will relocate their
working copies once I figure out the tortoise issue.

Let me back-up one second and explain what I am trying to accomplish. We
are moving our repository from Linux to Windows. I did a dump of the
repository on Linux and the loaded it onto a Windows box. To test
whether the dump/load worked, I checked out a *fresh* working copy of
the repo from the Windows machine. This worked great. But when I attempt
to commit a change to the Windows repository it fails with
"Authorization failed." I would have expected Tortoise to pop-up a
dialog to allow me to enter username and password.

Wayne, I've also tried relocating an existing working copy and when I
commit changes same issue "Authorization failed" but no opportunity to
enter my credentials.

Somehow my tortoise client is tied to my old svn+ssh repository. I've
tried going into Putty and deleting the SSH session that tortoise was
using to establish the SSH session to the old repository. This didn't
help.

The core issue is that I need to get Tortoise to prompt me for my
credentials but somehow, even though I'm using an entirely fresh working
copy, the client must be holding on to configuration for the old svn+ssh
repo.

I've even tried to uninstall and reinstall Tortoise. This does not help.
I've tried grepping through Tortoise's directory for some clues.
Nothing. Now I'm looking through the Windows registry. I'm getting
desperate.

Mark

If I understand the issue, this information is stored in the working
copy. You need to relocate your working copy to the new URL. You should
find this option on the context menu you get when you right click on the

root of your working copy
