Jepp.

And by specific repository I mean the TortoiseSVN repository, and check it out to let's say the "tortoisesvn" folder.

TortoiseCVS does only so when clicking on a non CVS folder (or empty space resp.). I'll recommend to the same for TortoiseSVN, and in that case the context menu only contains 7 items (Repo-browser, Export..., Create repository here..., Import..., Help, Settings, About).

Sure, it just makes it a bit easier, and I confess it did work with TortoiseCVS for me. I checked out the code, sneaked around and got curious about it.

I agree on that, I didn't have non/semi-technical people in mind. I just saw the feature on TortoiseCVS and thought: "oh, that would be nice to have it for TortoiseSVN as well", therefore I brought it up on the mailing list. Well, it's not up to me to decide.
