   I'm using Opus 9.0.08 and TortoiseSVN 1.4.5 (10425) on WinXP 32 just fine.

   I've never gotten Opus to install on a WinXP64 machine -- did you do anything special>
I haven't tried recently. It may have something to do with the WinXP 64 change.
