This has turned out to be rather difficult; the window isn't wide
enough to show the full path of the directories being crawled. Is
there any way to direct this to a text file? Is there any way to get
timing information?

As near as I can tell, though, everything is being recrawled every
time I do any action in SVN or any navigation in the explorer, and
it's just that each directory is taking a long time.

Any ideas for further narrowing it down?

At least I can get my work done by turning icon overlays off. :)
