I think it may have been fixed already. From the 4.3a release
notes:

    Fixed bug that in some cases caused the 'Safely Remove
    Hardware' function to fail.

I just tested it, mounting the volume as both fixed and
removable devices, opening the drive, confirming that the status
icons show, and then dismounting the volume.

Oh, stupid me, I have VS on here now. Spy++ also confirms that
it is in fact sending the WM_DEVICECHANGE messages on dismount.

Note that this version still identifies itself as simply 4.3 in
the about box. The download, however, is "truecrypt-4.3a.zip.
